PhysiApp Review: Guided physio & healthcare at your fingertips

PhysiApp offers more than 2,000 clinical exercise and rehabilitation videos in high definition, developed by clinical experts from around the world.

I never thought I would be writing a review of a PhysiApp, but here I am. If you are not familiar with the PhysiApp, it is a phone application that allows physiotherapists and healthcare providers to create and assign physio rehab plans for their clients. I have been using the PhysiApp daily to recover from a workplace spinal injury. In this blog post, I will share my thoughts on the PhysiApp after using it for 12 months.

Introduction to Physiapp

The PhysiApp is the application side of the PhysiTrack physiotherapy management software.

This is the software my physiotherapist uses, and using the app to structure my rehab has been extremely helpful in my recovery.

The app is very user-friendly and the exercises are easy to follow. The PhysiApp has your structured workout assigned by a physiotherapist or healthcare provider, and each exercise has information such as reps, sets, time and a short video giving a demonstration of the movement and muscle groups used. I have found the PhysiApp to be an invaluable resource in my recovery journey.

PhysiTrack Physiotherapy Management Software

The PhysiApp is the client (patient) portal into the PhysiTrack physiotherapy management software. PhysiTrack is a web-based application that helps physiotherapists manage their patients, appointments, and payments. The PhysiApp is basically an extension of PhysiTrack that allows physiotherapists to create and assign physio rehab plans and clinical exercises for their clients.

How the PhysiApp works

Once you have been injured, your physiotherapist will assess your injury and create a rehabilitation plan specifically for you. This rehabilitation plan will be made up of a series of exercises that are designed to help you recover from your injury.

Your physiotherapist will then prescribe clinical exercise programs to you through the PhysiApp. You will be able to access your rehab plan on the PhysiApp and see all of the exercises that you need to do.

Each exercise program has information such as reps, sets, time and a short video giving demonstration of the movement and muscle groups used, to ensure you are completing the exercises correctly. I have found this feature to be of huge benefit in my recovery journey.

The PhysiApp also allows you to track your progress and see how well you are doing with your rehab. This has been a great motivator for me to stick with my physio exercises and continue working towards my recovery goals, as I get in-app reminders, reminding me to do the workouts, and I also get a bit embarrassed when my physio sees I haven’t completed the exercise for the day.

Clinical studies confirm that regular use of the Physiapp will improve outcomes for patients.

Tracking pain with the Physiapp

PhysiApp also has a pain tracking feature that allows you to track your pain levels in real time on a daily basis. This has been extremely helpful for me in monitoring my progress and seeing how my back injuries are healing. I can put in my experience of pain or discomfort for particular exercises, and my physio uses this feedback to adjust and tailor my rehab program.

The PhysiApp is free to download from the App Store. There is no subscription fee to use the PhysiApp, as this is provided by your physiotherapist. Physios pay a monthly subscription fee for the PhysiTrack software system, which includes an access code to the PhysiApp program for their patients. You just need to ensure you have internet access to be able to use the App.
